Media Month

Sunday, October 1 - Tuesday, October 31, 2017

October is Media Month in the University of Pretrial!   We will be offering events and resources for members of the media, public information officers, and anyone engaged in pretrial communications.   We hope you'll join us for the events below, and throughout the month we will be releasing new resources, including an updated messaging toolkit, a new media resources page, and an on-demand guide to pretrial data.   


First Friday Forum: Pretrial Communications Toolkit — October 6, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM (ET)
Robin Campbell, PJI's Director of Communications, will be our Forum guest, discussing the soon-to-be-released pretrial messaging toolkit.

Finding Your Next Story: a webcast for media — October 13, 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM (ET)
Members of the media are invited to join us to discuss resources for covering pretrial, including connecting with impacted individuals, accessing pretrial data, and navigating the pretrial system.

Measures for Justice — October 24, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM (ET)
Measures for Justice collects county-level criminal justice data from across the country to increase transparency and promote informed discussions.   Explore the data available through Measures for Justice, and talk with the researchers about improving quality and access to pretrial data. 

Strategic Communications for Pretrial — October 31, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM (ET)
Are you a Public Information Officer, or do you just have days when you feel like one?   Join PJI's communications team to discuss pretrial communications strategies, including effective crisis response and proactive media engagement.
