Cruel and Unusual Punishment (Before Trial): A WorldWide View of Pretrial Detention and Money Bond
Jun 25, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Each night, 3 million people around the world are being held in pretrial detention, 16% of those in the US (despite our having only 5% of the world's population). Is there anything to be learned about how other countries - having 95% of the world's population but only 84% of the pretrial detention - administer pretrial justice? Join us for a discussion about the policies and practices from around the world - and let's see what we can learn.
