Booth v. Galveston County Texas (2018)
This is a class action lawsuit filed in the Southern District of Texas against Galveston County and the Galveston County District Court Judges, Court at Law Judges, Magistrates, and District Attorney. The Plaintiff has brought this action for injunctive relief on behalf of himself and all similarly situated people imprisoned in Galveston County Jail. Attorney's for the Plaintiff argue the County’s practices in this case violate the Plaintiff’s substantive and procedural due process rights, infringe Equal Protection guarantees, and undermine the constitutional right to counsel.
