Opinion in Washington v. Huckins - Washington State Court of Appeals Division Two (2018)

10-03-2018 14:57

In this opinion the Court of Appeals of the State of Washington, Division Two, concluded that the trial court abused its discretion in failing to consider less restrictive conditions than money bail. The court remanded this case to the trial court to strike the part of the defendant's sentence that was based on the statute that does not exist. The court agreed that the trial court erred in requiring $1,000 bail without making any findings that less restrictive conditions would assure the safety of the community.
